Special Educational Needs (SEN) is the term used to describe the needs of a child who has a difficulty or disability which makes learning harder for them than for other children their age. SEN covers a broad spectrum of difficulty or disability.
At Aspire Tuition we find that many of our students have some level of difficulty. Many students may not be reaching their potential in school as they have dyslexic, dyscalculic or attention difficulties, for example. Many students may have a variety of needs, as often difficulties coexist.
We are rare amongst local tuition companies as our tutors are all qualified teachers with years of school teaching and tuition experience. Many other large local companies do not use all or even any, qualified teachers. Additionally, Andrea Parkinson, Director, has specialist, high level qualifications (including a Level 7 Qualification which may be a requirement of an Education, Health and Care Plan) in supporting students with such needs. We assess, plan and support using that valuable expertise. We can also advise on how to try to get the best support from school.
Working on a 1:1 ratio, means we can spend the time needed with students that they often cannot receive in school or within a group / multi-student tuition format. Very rarely can a student with SEN have such valuable individual time with a qualified and specialist teacher. They enjoy and flourish with the expert support we give.
Aspire Tuition always aims to build the confidence of learners and give the opportunity for all to reach their full potential, at whatever level that may be.
